Confucius

a bit about me...
I have always enjoyed drawing. All I needed as a child was a pencil and a blank piece of A4 paper. I would draw anything I found interesting; things such as dinosaurs, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air logo to my friend's names. My interest in art developed throughout early education, yet it wasn't until a GCSE Art project when my interest in Graphic Design was born. My class had been set the task of branding our own mint chocolate, I decided to call mine 'Mega Mint'. My art teacher, Miss Algar, loved my project, and I’ll never forget what she said to me... "Roy, this is excellent work. You should become a Graphic Designer!" At the age of 14, I didn't even know what a Graphic Designer was, one thing I did know? I liked the sound of it!

Whilst my art skills continued to develop, I experienced a transition from art to design whilst at college and went on to study Graphic Design at University. At the time, we were experiencing the interactive movement and the introduction of new media, which I found hugely intriguing and enjoyable, so much so I achieved a BA (HONS) Degree in Multimedia Design.

Some people like to class what I do as "arty farty" I prefer to describe it as being conceptual, and providing a creative solution to a problem that conveys a message, whilst being aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

I love what I do. When taking a project from concept to completion, I stick by my ethos; devising fresh creative solutions, push the boundaries, ensuring my final delivery is conceptually strong whilst being executed to the best of my ability. I am meticulous when it comes to detail and take pride in my craft. My mentality is, no matter how big or small the task in hand... if you're going to do a job, do it properly! I'm passionate when interacting with like-minded creative. I enjoy that feeling of inner satisfaction when a collaboration runs like clock work and delivers outstanding results.

Some people may earn a lot more than me yet hate their job. Not for me, I love what I do and I wouldn't change it for the world. I couldn't agree anymore with Confucius.
